Q406:  I went to the IRS web site. It stated: if you receive VA benefits, SSI, or are not required to file a tax return DO NOT ENTER YOUR INFORMATION. You WILL receive your stimulus check from the VA. I filed a paper tax return last year. I have done so for the last 30 years. I HAVE NEVER FILED electronically. The VA requires my compensation be direct deposited which is done into a savings account. My question was will my wife and I get our stimulus checks from the VA or the IRS or what?

A1:  The only reason you would have to enter info at IRS is if you have young kids. Otherwise you will receive your stimulus checks the same way you receive your VA funds, but the money will show up as IRS funds.  (HO)  4/30/20

A2:  Yes u will, I'm 100% disabled vet and get direct deposit and today they sent me and my wife a check for $2400.00.  (AW)  4/30/20

A3:  The IRS sends them out.  (PG)  4/30/20

A4:  The IRS...all stimulus checks are coming from the IRS. Don't worry, the checks in the mail.  (WR)  4/30/20

A5:  The IRS issues the checks or makes the electronic deposits, not the VA.  (TM)  4/30/20

A7:  Stimulus money ultimately comes from IRS. Whether you are getting VA, SS or both, IRS will first of all, look at your 1040, and you indicated you get paper checks each year. My best guess is that you will be receiving a paper check and not direct deposit. You may want to start putting your bank routing number and account on your 1040 to not only get your annual tax refund back sooner, but also any other "surprise" payments like stimulus. Don't worry, your stimulus will be at your house soon. Stay healthy.  (RC)  4/30/20

A8:  From the IRS. How you get the check is another story. I filed tax and get disability. Our check we received in the mail, not direct deposit. My 19 year old granddaughter did non file tax and hers was direct deposit. Go figure . Government still all mixed up.  (TH)  5/1/20
