Q400: I'm confused. I filed taxes last year and received a paper check by mail. (Did not file electronically). I also receive VA compensation by direct deposit to my savings account. ( My wife is my only dependent on the compensation and we file jointly on taxes). Do I or do I not need to file for the stimulus check or will the VA automatically deposit into my savings?
If you have a question about benefits, compensation, pension or VA related issues please submit here.

A1: There was no routing number or account number on your 1040 when you filed taxes, so I am assuming since you did not get a stimulus in your account yet, you will be getting it by mail. I do not understand why you get VA disability by direct deposit, yet you opted not to fill in the info on your 1040 so you could get your tax refund back quicker. Everything my wife and I do is direct deposit because it is faster and safer. Good luck and hope you get it soon. (RC) 4/26/20
A2: I filed 2018 taxes last but got a "status unavailable" on the irs.gov web stimulus inquiry page. After checking every day for a week or so my status changed to "don't have enough information to process your stimulus payment." Then clucked the button that allows you to input your banking information. Went back a day later and got another status change that said "we now have verified your information and update your payment to send your stimulus payment." This was on Friday night, I checked yesterday, Saturday and found the last message. Since this all took place on the weekend I'm not looking to see another status change until Monday and following. I said that to say this. Check irs.gov for your status then act accordingly because hardly any two situations are alike. (BM) 4/26/20
A3: Its anyone's guess. I get VA disability and social security direct deposit. I got a paper check even though some ss recipients are getting direct deposits. (TH) 4/26/20
A4: Use this easy IRS Website and you will have your check(s) in a week.
