A1: I would direct that question to your local DAV or VSO Office. They have the knowledge, forms to assist you in filing a claim, etc. (RC) 2/11/20
A2: Well they did not cover mine. Said they did not injure my right eye, some clerk just cancelled my eye appt. that my primary had made for me because the clerk decided I did not qualify for an eye exam and didn't tell anyone that it was cancelled and by the time I got back to my primary to find out why I hadn't gotten an appt. and he checked with them and was told some clerk had cancelled it and he finally got me in it was too late for my right eye, the pressure had already destroyed the optic nerve. A3: Try these two things. One check with a VSO person and Please check with an Attorney who knows the laws when dealing with the VA. I believe you can get compensation from the VA when they case an medical issue. I know some one who hurt during surgery at the VA and they took care of the medical issue and he is suing the VA also. Again check with an VSO and an Attorney who knows the law when dealing with the VA. I hope this help and I wish you and your family well. (CT) 2/11/20
A4: Yes. (RI) 2/11/20
A5: Going after the VA for damages because of their negligence is different than trying to receive compensation for an illness or injury that occurred as a service connection. Sounds like you need some legal advice on this. (JL) 2/11/20
