Q344: I am a Vietnam veteran honorably discharged and applied for ChampVA 2 yrs ago through the VA. I have not heard a peep from them. Why do I have to wait so long? Is it still because we do not rate anything bennies? We served our country just like the now military, but we struggle to get good medical care. Where is the help?

A1: You have to be rated 100% to get champva . . . Or that's how it was 20 years ago when my family got theirs. Good luck to you. In Oregon the state healthcare plan pays 100% Where champva only pays 80%. And doesn't pay for as many things. Or let us use coupons to pay the 20% left after they pay their share. (MN) 1/14/20
