Q218:  My Mental Health Doctor sent me for a Sleep Test because I wasn't getting any sleep. After the test I was given a C-pap Machine by the VA. After sending in for Sleep Apnea Compensation due to PTSD it was Denied as Non Service Connected. I have Friends who have 50% disability ratings for the same thing. Is this another VA way to take advantage of Us Vietnam Vets?  Have been 80% for years now, what is it going to take to reach 100% before I am Dead?

Use Form Below To Respond

A1:  You may not reach 100% before you die. If you don't have the conditions that qualify for compensation, then you will not have the increase. Every condition is different, every claim is different. The VA is not taking advantage of anyone. You must meet the terms of the 38 CFR.  (AP)  12/11/18

A2:  You have been at 80% for years so now the best thing for you would be to go for IU: Individual Unemployability. Do it now before it's too late.    That VA Mental Health Doctor was hired to cure and make you well. He did his VA duty by prescribing you a C-Pap Machine and now you can sleep better.  A regular VA Medical Doctor does NOT work at VA to raise your Disability Rating. That will come at your C and P Examination. Good Luck, Brother.   (RA)  12/11/18
