Unemployment Insurance Programs
The purpose of Unemployment Insurance for veterans is to provide a weekly income for a limited period of time to help them meet basic needs while searching for employment.
Benefits are paid from federal funds. Former service men and women are entitled to Unemployment Insurance in Wyoming on the same terms and conditions as Wyoming workers who have worked for non-military employers in the state.
File a claim for Unemployment Insurance at the nearest ERC office immediately after leaving the service. Be certain to bring your DD Form 214 to establish your type of separation from the service.
In Wyoming, military separation payments, including voluntary separation incentives, will postpone receipt of UI benefits.
