Governor Ron DeSantis signed a slew of veteran-related Bills into law June 4. 2021, including a measure that helps military families select schools tailored to their unique circumstances.

HB 429 mandates the Department of Education to establish a Purple Star Campus Program in Florida.

Under HB 429, Florida schools will be recognized as a Purple Star Campus if they meet select requirements such as military liaisons and reserved seats for military-connected students.

HB 435 will make Florida the first state in the nation to codify a federally funded program connecting veterans with job training, apprenticeships, and internships.

SB 922 will waive secondary education requirements for veterans applying to Florida state  schools and political entities. The measure also bolsters veteran hiring preferences.

STAR

STAR is a unique network of American patriots focused on helping American heroes successfully transition from their special operations careers into the civilian business community. The term “Special Operations Forces” or “SOF” refers to our nation’s most elite group of warriors, a select group of men and women who possess invaluable leadership skills and have exceptionally high degrees of integrity, self-motivation, creativity, focus, discipline and drive. These premier traits, honed by careers of training and experience, are highly valued in the business world. The one thing operators often lack, however, are the network connections needed to translate these skills into successful second careers. STAR aims to bridge this gap by connecting these elite Operators with business partners, in order to open doors for them in the Tampa, Florida local area.  Email:  info@tampastarnetwork.com
