Week #3 Winners (7-13 Sep 08)

PLEASE READ:  Each week, U.S. Veteran Compensation Programs will post a new compensation exam that will be open to the general public.  Participants are responsible for reading and abiding by all examination rules, procedures and deadlines.

The following general rules apply:

1. ANONYMITY – U.S. Veteran Compensation Programs use an anonymous grading system. For identification, participants are required to use their own address and e-mail in lieu of their social security number, driver’s license number, or Vet Center VIF number on exams.

  
2. HANDWRITING EXAMS – Participants may not handwrite their exams using bluebooks or keyboard their exams using a laptop computer with special security software (see computers below). Bluebooks, scantron sheets for multiple choice exams, and scratch paper are prohibited.


3. COMPUTERS – Participants who plan to use their laptop or desk top computers to take exams must be prepared to submit data at the end of the exam.

Should a laptop in any way become disabled during an examination, U.S. Veteran Compensation Programs cannot be held responsible nor will a participant be given extra time.

Computers may not be used for access to notes or outlines during an examination.

   

4. CLOSED-BOOK EXAMS – Only exam related materials such as the exam questions, writing utensils, bluebooks, and blank scratch paper are permitted during an examination.

5. OPEN BOOK EXAMS – During exams, participants may bring printed copies of notes and outlines, but may not access those materials from their computers.

6. PLAGIARISM – Participants who commit plagiarism, turn in "multiple submissions" in an effort to obtain credit twice for the same, or substantially similar, work, or who are otherwise caught cheating on examinations, will be subject to the U.S. Veteran Compensation Programs disciplinary proceedings outlined in the Terms of Use.   Documentation of any resulting proceedings and/or disciplinary action will remain in the participants file. The occurrence of such disciplinary proceedings will be communicated to the Committee of U.S. Veteran Compensation Programs when the participant undergoes moral character evaluation.

7. SAME START TIME – Participants may begin the exam questions at any time.

8. NO TALKING – Participants may not talk to or share written materials with another participant during an examination.

9. NO FOOD, DRINK, PHONES, or PDAs – For the safety of your computer, eating, drinking, cell phones, and PDAs are all prohibited while taking the exam.

   

10.  DEADLINE - Every Saturday at 11:00 P.M. (CST) for each week the compensation exam is given.
